Cider on the Porch — A Fall Twist on a BHPS Favorite

Fall is the perfect time to slow down, enjoy the changing season, and spend a little time with friends and neighbors. This October, the Blakesburg Historical Preservation Society is putting an autumn twist on our popular Coffee on the Porch gatherings with Cider on the Porch at the historic Abernathy House.

Join us from 9:30–11:30 a.m. for hot mulled apple cider and a fresh cinnamon roll for $5. And for those who prefer their morning cup of coffee, the coffee pot will be on, too!

Picnic tables will be available on the lawn, with tables and chairs on the wraparound porch. Visitors are also welcome to bring a lawn chair, find a comfortable spot, and stay awhile. 

More than anything, Cider on the Porch is an old-fashioned social gathering—a chance to put down the cell phone, catch up with friends and neighbors, meet someone new, and simply enjoy a crisp fall morning together at one of Blakesburg’s historic landmarks.
