Halloween is almost here, and the Blakesburg Historical Preservation Society invites ghosts, goblins, and trick-or-treaters of all ages to stop by the historic Abernathy House on Saturday, October 31, from 6–9 p.m. for Halloween treats on the porch!

Adding to the fun, children ages 12 and under can participate in a Candy Jar Guessing Contest. Simply guess the number of pieces of candy in the jar without going over. The closest guess wins the entire jar of candy! In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by a drawing among the tied entries. The festivities coincide with the City of Blakesburg's scheduled trick-or-treating hours, so put on your costumes, grab your candy buckets, and make the Abernathy House one of your Halloween stops! Just look at how much fun we had LAST year...
