Music of Christmas Past
See and hear three remarkable antique musical instruments on display:
“Visible Bells” Music Box: a Swiss cylinder music box (c. 1870–1900) that features small tuned bells mounted openly inside the case where you can see them.
Wind-Up Gramophone: an antique phonograph record player with a flower horn
“The Criterion” Disc Music Box: a late 19th-century instrument that plays tunes by plucking a steel comb with raised pins on a rotating metal disc.
Volunteers will gladly play them for you. Just ask!
Make Christmas at the Abernathy House part of your holiday season!
